The card is on my lock screen but the numbers are not changing

The card is updated by a small server, so it needs your phone to have a connection. If it has not heard anything for ten minutes it starts saying how long ago the last update was — that line is the honest signal that something is wrong rather than that the park is quiet.

Open the app and it re-registers the card straight away. If that does not fix it within a minute or two, end the card and start it again from the last step.

It says Live Activities are switched off

iOS controls this per app. Go to Settings → Whats Next → Live Activities and turn it on. There is also a master switch at Settings → Face ID & Passcode → Live Activities that has to be on for the card to appear on a locked screen.

The Walk column shows dashes

That means the app has no location to measure from. Turn it on at Settings → Privacy & Security → Location Services → Whats Next → While Using the App. Everything else on the card works exactly the same without it, and you can switch the Walk column off entirely on the Anything else on it? step.

The Walk column says 380 minutes

Then you are about six hours' walk from that ride, which is correct and not a bug — it is a real answer to "how far is that", and it will drop to single digits when you are in the park.

The card disappeared on its own

iOS ends a Live Activity after eight hours and no app can extend that. Start it again from the last step if you are still in the park.

My step count says "earlier"

The app can only read Apple Health while it is open, so the figure is as recent as your last visit to the app. Rather than let an old number look live, the card marks it. Open the app and it refreshes.

A wait time looks wrong

Whats Next Parks shows the wait the park itself is posting, taken from the public queue-times.com feed. If the sign at the ride says something different, the feed has not caught up yet — the app does not estimate or adjust the numbers.

It says "Sample times" or "No connection"

The live feed could not be reached. Rather than show a blank screen, the app generates a plausible park so you can still set the card up — and labels it, because showing invented wait times without saying so is the one thing a wait-times app must never do. It switches back on its own when the connection returns.

Can the card be my wallpaper?

No. iOS has no way for any app to set a wallpaper, at any permission level. A Live Activity is the largest, liveliest thing an app is allowed to put on a lock screen, which is why the card is one.

Can I change the card while it is running?

Yes. Change anything in the app and the card picks it up within a minute. There is no need to end it and start it again, and there is nothing to save.

Does it drain my battery?

The app is not running while the card is. iOS draws the card and a server sends it one small update a minute; nothing polls in the background and there is no background location.

Which parks does it cover?

Disneyland and Disney California Adventure. It can follow whichever one you are standing in, or stay on one you pick.

What do you know about me?

Nothing. There is no account, no sign-in, no database and no analytics. With walking times on, your approximate position is sent to the update service so it can measure a walk — rounded to about ten metres at the park and about a kilometre away from it, held in memory, and forgotten when the card ends. Steps and distance are read on your phone and never sent anywhere. The full detail is in the privacy policy.

How do I delete my data?

Delete the app. Everything it stored goes with it, and nothing survives on any server — there is no account to close and no archive to request.
